Description

This is no Farmoor, Otmoor or Port Meadow. This is Grimsbury. It's Grim up north!

There is a running total year list in the link above.

Please send in your bird sightings to the B.O.S. and/or to me directly for inclusion on the blog. If you have some photos you would like to contribute please let me know (contact via the comments box on the right if you do not have my email already). Thank you.

Saturday was rather a slow day and I really struggled to find anything of particular interest. The most noteworthy bird was a Swallow in the Upper Cherwell Valley.

I did see the Alexanders that Tim Clark found though. It has a fairly limited inland distribution and if this BSBI map is up to date it isn't very often recorded in Oxfordshire.

Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum)
Dave Fuller was out and got some good bird pictures to save the day!

This Nuthatch was also in Spiceball Park. It is a bird I have never recorded at Grimsbury so it gives me hope of getting one on patch.
