Description

This is no Farmoor, Otmoor or Port Meadow. This is Grimsbury. It's Grim up north!

There is a running total year list in the link above.

Please send in your bird sightings to the B.O.S. and/or to me directly for inclusion on the blog. If you have some photos you would like to contribute please let me know (contact via the comments box on the right if you do not have my email already). Thank you.

10th Jul 2022

It's been another fairly quiet couple of weeks.  On Weds 29th there were 2 Common Sandpipers and 2 Skylarks, with one singing over the cattle field. Clive had a Common Sandpiper on Sun 3rd and Small Skippers in the meadow.

On Mon 4th Steve H and I had a walk around mainly for recording odonata, but we had a Common Tern at the reservoir and a Peregrine over. Dragons and damsels recorded were Banded and Beautiful Demoiselles, Azure and Common Blue Damsel, Blue-tailed Damsel, Red-eyed Damsel, Emperor Dragon (at the Borrow Pit pool), Black-tailed Skimmer and a Darter sp. - probably Common. We also had Small Skipper, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Marbled White, Red Admiral and Comma butterflies. Later in the evening I also saw a Scarlet Tiger Moth.
