03rd Aug 2015

A quick morning visit today and the gull spectacle of yesterday was long gone. There were only around 15 Black-headed Gulls and a single (2cy) Lesser Black-backed Gull loafing on the pontoon.

A Common Sandpiper was feeding along the western edge of the reservoir and a female Tufted Duck was bobbing around in the center. I searched for 'the Redstart' from yesterday and was slightly disappointed, but not all that surprised, to not find one. Several Swallows flew over quite low heading south, which could have been local birds but I think they were migrants.
