Description

This is no Farmoor, Otmoor or Port Meadow. This is Grimsbury. It's Grim up north!

There is a running total year list in the link above.

Please send in your bird sightings to the B.O.S. and/or to me directly for inclusion on the blog. If you have some photos you would like to contribute please let me know (contact via the comments box on the right if you do not have my email already). Thank you.

1st Feb 2026

It was fairly quiet this week, but the flooded fields up the valley added some wildfowl interest and a couple of year ticks.

In on of the flooded fields on Friday afternoon there were 98 Lapwing, 56 Teal, 11 Gadwall, 9 Wigeon and 3 Shoveler. On the Borrow Pit pool there was also a Pochard, which is not a common sight there.

Also yesterday, there was a report of 3 Wigeon on the reservoir. 6 Siskin was the highlight of a brief visit this morning.

I think the year list is up to 75, but I have lost my list and need to re do it!
